This invitation has come to ASERA via ICASE.
Since its foundation, UNESCO has sought to collaborate with civil society partners such as NGOs for the implementation of its activities and programmes. At the same time, UNESCO encourages engagement of youth in its actions from design to implementation and follow-up, in their local communities through the scaling up of youth-led initiatives, in the policy agenda through the integration of youth concerns and the active participation of young people in the processes of developing this agenda.
The Liaison Committee proposes to seize the opportunity of the 75th anniversary of UNESCO to launch a call to action for meaningful youth engagement among NGOs in Official Partnership, which should result in a genuine intergenerational dialogue.
In this regard, we invite you to nominate a young representative (under 30 years old),who will participate in the Liaison Committee’s activities leading up to the celebration of UNESCO’s 75th anniversary, including the drafting of a Position Paper on Youth and Guidelines for Advocacy, which will be presented in time for the celebrations.
On 12 July 2021 (2 PM CEST), the Liaison Committee will organize a first online meeting with these young representatives to discuss the best approach to include young people meaningfully in their organization’s regular operations, and have a first reflection on the content of the documents mentioned.
Once identified, the designated young representatives can register themselves here.
